Super post, Alex. And a moment of kismet with that word 'remedy'. Currently reading the The Hundred Remedies of the Tao | Book by Gregory Ripley. It has got me thinking about what is 'healing' versus what is 'healthy'. Finding the former personal and intuitive, the latter more ambiguous and open to external social assumptions.
Ooh, that's such a useful distinction, thanks. This speaks to my issue with the notion of "mental health" as well. The phrase implies some kind of expectation of level of "health" where one is healthy when you feel fantastic all of the time. As soon as you experience lengthly periods on undesired emotions it is implied that you experiencing "bad mental health", as though you're a machine with a broken part somewhere that needs to be replaced in order to function properly again. It's such an unhelpful and dangerous way of relating to humanity and life itself.
Preach! so much yes to this.
Cheers Kellita!
