An Essay on Worldviews and A Conversation with Someone Who Changed My World
Meeting our Worldviews
My most recent essay was published by Perspectiva — “an urgent one hundred year project to improve the relationships between systems, souls, and society in theory and practice.”
You can read the essay here. Or download it as a PDF here.
In the piece, I write that beneath the surface, every worldview is attempting to take care of something. There is always a positive intention hidden within a system of beliefs or perspectives.
In order to change worldviews, you can’t force the issue. Instead, it’s a process of feeling, meeting, and respecting what the current worldview has been trying to take care of. Only then, if and when it is ready, will it dissolve and morph into something new.
This process requires more than an intellectual understanding of a worldview. It means fully encountering the emotional reality that is buried within the lives of those who hold it.
This is not necessarily easy work. But I believe it lies at the very heart of our humanity. And it’s work that is being called of us all to more effectively grapple with the challenges we face.
Interview with Carl Buchheit
A couple of weeks ago I had a conversation with Carl Buchheit, a hugely important teacher and mentor in my life. He’s the founder of NLP Marin, and is a masterful practitioner and teacher of human development work.
In our conversation, we talked about how I've incorporated what I've learned from him into my work as a leadership coach and facilitator. And we explored the depths of learning: what facilitates learning and development, what gets in the way of natural learning processes, and what the best leadership and teaching looks like.

Yellow
The fifth cohort of Yellow will start in a couple of weeks. It’s amazing to realize that less than two years ago, Yellow was nothing more than a seedling of an idea. Today, it’s a living and breathing organism that is proving to be an endless source of excitement, contemplation, and inspiration.
For Rob and I, our job is not to grow it for the sake of growing it. Instead we see our role as tending to and nourishing what Yellow wants to become. It’s about deepening, not widening.
Part of that deepening process means we will be running physical events for participants and collaborators this spring. In just a couple of weeks we’ll be hosting a Walk and Talk in the Spanish mountains of the Sierra de Gredos. And in June there will be a larger 3D Yellow event at Dehesa de la Serna outside of Avila, Spain. And there’s more to come.
